Charles De Ketelaere came off the bench in AC Milan’s 2-1 win against Salernitana and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Although he’s not expected to start tomorrow, the Rossoneri have a clear plan.
The €35m signing has struggled to impose himself at Milan but against Salernitana, we saw glimpses of what he’s capable of. Quite frankly, he was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with two good efforts, both fantastically saved by Guillermo Ochoa.
As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, due to the injury situation, De Ketelaere will get a new chance very soon but not from start against Roma. Brahim Diaz has also done well and is the favourite to start tomorrow.
Milan will face Torino in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 next week and Pioli is keen on starting De Ketelaere in that game. It remains to be seen if he will play as a No.10 or as the striker up front, to give Olivier Giroud some rest.
