CM: €30m man performs U-turn on Milan future – why Spurs have edge over Aston Villa

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek has reportedly changed his mind regarding his future at the club as rumours persist regarding interest from England.

The Poland lost his starting spot for Saturday’s game against Cagliari, with front two Rafael Leao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic both getting on the scoresheet, and now seemingly faces an uncertain future at Milan.

It was reported earlier in the week by MilanNews.it‘s Anto Vitiello reported last week that Tottenham have concrete interest in Piatek, with Aston Villa, West Ham and Bayer Leverkusen also keen.

The same outlet then added that the Rossoneri have made their position on the 24-year-old clear: they will only allow him to leave on a permanent basis with a price tag of €28-30million set.

Nicolo Schira of La Gazzetta dello Sport added on Sunday that Spurs have called on the help of intermediary Frank Trimboli to help them open talks and strike a deal.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.comPiatek did want to stay at Milan despite the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and fight for his place in the team. However, the fact that he was benched for the whole game against Cagliari appears to have changed his mind.

The outlet adds that the 24-year-old has shown an opening to a farewell at least, as long as the destination is a big club, implying Spurs have the edge over Villa.
