CM: €42million Chelsea flop sends another message to Milan – the current situation

By Oliver Fisher -

A return to AC Milan for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko currently seems unlikely despite his latest message on Instagram, a report claims.

The Rossoneri continue to be linked with a move for the 25-year-old amid reports from a number of sources in the media claiming the player is desperate to secure a return to the San Siro.

Il Corriere dello Sport (as cited by TMW) added that Milan are hard at work to secure a return for Bakayoko and have begun talks.

However, the paper added that Chelsea for now though are not backing down from the €42million fee they agreed with Monaco as part of his loan deal last summer as an option to buy, which the Ligue 1 club are not expected to exercise.

Bakayoko dropped a hint on social media regarding a possible return as he reposted a photo including him and Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli on his Instagram story with the caption “good memories”.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com however, Bakayoko will return to Chelsea after his loan at Monaco, but a return to Milan is unlikely due to two reasons.

The first reason is the salary that the Frenchman earns, which he would have to substantially reduce, and the second if the valuation that Chelsea have put on the player.
