Fiorentina have strongly entered the race to sign AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega amid indecision from Atalanta, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com reports that Paolo Maldini wants to sign a couple of players who will help the squad take a leap in quality ahead of what is a vital season for the Rossoneri, and if the club can raise funds through the sales of players like Tommaso Pobega then it would certainly help the budget.
Fresh from a first positive season in Serie A with Spezia during which he racked up 6 goals in 20 appearances, the midfielder has ended up in the crosshairs of several clubs, both foreign and Italian. New Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano wants the player back having moved from Spezia to Florence, and now they are competing with Atalanta to land him.
As with Jens Petter Hauge – who remains in the sights of Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt – the Rossoneri are confident of obtaining a figure close to to €15m from Pobega’s sale. Atalanta are currently pushing for Teun Koopmeiners meanwhile, and so Fiorentina have sensed an opportunity.

Do not sell Pobega, keep him, or if surplus, dry loan is smart choice. 6 goals from 20 appearances is “bright” for a youngster.
