The signing of Olivier Giroud may not be the only striker to arrive at AC Milan during the summer window, according to a report.
Calciomercato.com reports that the Rossoneri have agreed a deal in full with Chelsea over Giroud, who will be in Milano either next Monday or Tuesday to undergo the usual medical tests before signing a two-year contract.
The Frenchman is seen as the reliable alternative to Ibrahimovic, but the intention shared with Elliott Management and the directors is to continue investing even in more young players with potential.
Much will depend on the ability of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to make the most of the increasingly probable sales of Tommaso Pobega (wanted by Atalanta) and Jens Petter Hauge (talks ongoing with Eintracht Frankfurt). That could bring €30m to the club’s accounts.
Rafael Leao is no longer untouchable in the Rossoneri project and that is why his agent Jorge Mendes is expected in Italy in the coming days to present offers from abroad, with Everton and Borussia Dortmund the hottest hypotheses.
In terms of signings, it seems the 19-year-old Brazilian sensation Kaio Jorge must ‘be taken into special consideration’ as agent Giuliano Bertolucci was at Casa Milan, hinting in strong interest. His contract with Santos expires on December 31st so he could arrive for free in January.
He is also monitored by Napoli which means that the Diavolo could consider bringing the operation forward to beat the competition and complete the centre-forward department with a young player who has high potential and many years in the tank.
