CM: Giroud happy with decision to join Milan as another crucial challenge awaits

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud marked his proper return to action with a goal to help spark AC Milan’s comeback against Hellas Verona, and he is ready to continue making his mark.

Calciomercato.com writes that Giroud feels ‘wonderful in his new home, the city of Milan’ and also with his new team-mates, with whom he has already established a real and proper fraternal relationship. Despite the problems that have plagued him in recent weeks such Covid and back pain, the 35-year-old is ready and determined to prove his worht.

During the win over Verona he struggled in the first half to establish himself but then showed his expert movement to score the goal that kick-started a memorable comeback win, which seemed to spark a return in confidence.

Giroud was also paired with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a small portion of the game and against Porto – given also the probable absence of Rebic and the still imperfect condition of the Swede – it will likely be up to him again to take on the responsibility of a starting shirt.
