CM: Ibrahimovic’s new role could stretch to Pioli’s future and transfer strategy

By Euan Burns -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s new role as Senior Advisor for AC Milan could see him hold sway over the future of head coach Stefano Pioli and the players that club signs in the future, a report claims.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Swedish former striker is going to have a very vague role that could see him involved with multiple levels of the system at Milan.

He is expected to be advising the management of the club and acting as a go-between from RedBird Capital Group and the club.

It could be a very hands-on role, though, with him likely talking to Gerry Cardinale about Stefano Pioli and whether the coach should be replaced or not.

He could also have sway over transfer strategy, which may excite fans given the respect that Ibrahimovic commands from the Rossoneri fan base.

There could be great value in having someone in this all-seeing role who was so recently in the team.

No one’s excited about having more Emile Robacks if this is the case. Don’t get me wrong, the fan base loves Ibra though
