CM.it: Milan could make move for Real Madrid defender if Duarte leaves – Roma also intrigued

By Oliver Fisher -

The idea of AC Milan signing Real Madrid centre-back Nacho Fernandez before the window closes cannot be excluded, according to a report.

Milan are in the market for a new centre-back since that department is currently stretched due to the injuries that Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Musacchio are currently recovering on.

Fiorentina duo Nikola Milenkovic and German Pezzelle continue to be linked, with Saint-Etienne’s Wesley Fofana and Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer are two names that refuse to go away.

According to Calciomercato.it though, there is another name that is in the Rossoneri’s orbit in Nacho Fernandez of Real Madrid.

Both the Rossoneri and their Serie A rivals Roma are considering the possibility of making a move for the 30-year-old, who could leave Real on a loan with option to buy.

The Giallorossi have received various offers for Fazio and Juan Jesus, while Milan would like to lend Leo Duarte out on loan to free up a third non-EU spot in the squad.

Nacho meanwhile wants a new challenge and wants to play more consistently, and would be happy to try his luck in Serie A.
