Franck Kessie was a key player for Milan this past season, not only doing a great job in defence, but also scoring many goals as well. Sure, many of them were penalties but his importance was undeniable for the team.
According to Calciomercato.com, as the current deal will expire in 2022, Milan are working on renewing Kessie’s contract. Although there is currently distance between the parties, the feeling is that an agreement will be reached soon.
In a poll conducted by the outlet, meant for Milan fans, the question of who should become the club’s new captain was asked. Kessie was the clear winner with almost 65% of the votes, clearly the fan favourite for the role as captain.
The Ivorian could thus enjoy a double boost in the near future, renewing his deal with the Rossoneri and getting the captain’s armband in the process. Based on this past season, it’s very hard to argue against it.
