CM: Leao undergoing a four-day plan to be at 100% against Inter

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have decided not to risk Rafael Leao for today’s game against Spezia and he is instead following a four-day play to get back for the derby.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Portuguese winger will be under special observation between now and Tuesday and the medical staff will evaluate his condition day by day, while the player will do everything to make sure he is there.

For the game against Spezia today Pioli is expected to heavily rotate the attack and Leao will not even be on the bench. Instead, he will follow his team-mates from a distance in the hope they get all three points in the race for the top four.

If there are no hitches on the recovery program, on Sunday Leao should return to training together with his team-mates. The goal is not just to get him back for the derby but to have him 100% fit too.

These are four days of truth and 96 hours with all eyes on him, because Milan need Leao at his to try to overturn the 2-0 deficit from the first leg.

  1. Just a question, can’t Milan actually beat inter without Leao? What a testament to the teams depth. It will be very interesting to see that second leg
