Mike Maignan has been a crucial player for AC Milan ever since he joined them from Lille back in 2021. Many clubs are thus keeping tabs on him, including Chelsea, but the Rossoneri don’t consider him for sale.
When Gigio Donnarumma left Milan on a free transfer, not many thought that the Rossoneri would be able to replace him. However, for a mere €15.4m, they picked up Maignan and almost everyone believes that they are better off now.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Chelsea are very interested in Maignan in their pursuit of a goalkeeper. In fact, the Stamford Bridge side would even be willing to put €60m on the table to convince Milan.
However, as stated by the journalist last night, Maignan is not on the market and furthermore, Milan believe that he’s worth double what Chelsea want to offer. €120m is not an unreasonable ask for such a good goalkeeper, but it will keep most suitors away jus like the high price tag of Rafael Leao did (then a renewal).
They paid 80 million for Kepa
This!!! So much this!
Besides, Maignan is the best goalkeeper in the world (overall).
Explaining : Curtois e.g. is amazing at shot stopping, but when the ball is on his feet, it’s like he’s holding a bomb.
Overall, (shot stopping, LEADERSHIP, short and long passing etc), I think he’s second to none.
So, let a world-record (for GK) arrive, and then, we’ll discuss it further…
Maignan was purchased during Maldini’s time and not Red Bird
It was purchased during Milan time. And thats it. People and owners come and go — Milan stays.
Thank you, @MilanFan.
Yes Milan stays but we won’t even finish top 5 next season because of Mr Burger
if we finish 3rd I can guarentee you are gonna pretend to use another account and shamelessly celebrate lmao
Good thing is is AC MILAN not AC MALDINI
whats wrong with you
70-80m for Maignan. Now or never. Take it or leave it bro Chelsea. Time is now for milan big sale !!
Has he signed a renewal? It’s no rocket science. He can wind down his contract and leave for free.
I figure the club would accept a figure that splits the difference between the valuations. So if Chelsea come with 90m, he’s gone. Coincidentally, this would set the record for GK transfers. Good publicity on top of a 6x return on investment. Pretty damned good objectively. Then spend 1/3 or less to find a replacement and use the rest to fund 2-3 more players. I’m not advocating for a sale of Mike, just saying that’s what they would have in mind.
The sad thing is, they will spend nothing, Sportiello will be promoted, and they are gona pocket the money with the “stadium” excuse, or even worse,.no excuse at all.
Mark my words…
Oh, just realized that Vero Rossonero and Rossonero Vero are two different people lol
