CM: Maldini accelerates talks for De Paul – why Hauge will not be included in negotiations

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are very interested in signing Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese but Jens Petter Hauge will not be included in any offer, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com journalist Daniele Longo (via ACMBrasil), Maldini has been talking in recent days with representatives of De Paul to deal with a possible transfer for the 26-year-old.

However, contrary to other reports the Rossoneri do not intend to include Hauge in the negotiations. That is because Hauge is seen as a raw talent that the club has in their possession, and so he is expected to remain for next season so he can grow and develop. Another factor that has been taken into account is the Norwegian’s adaptation to Italian football, which may imply more chances on the pitch from 2021-22.

De Paul has a great market value and arouses interest from other Italian clubs, which makes it a difficult pursuit, but Milan believe that they will be able to meet Udinese’s demands with a top four finish. A top four finish would mean an increase in the budget available for the next market, but without it an investment of this size would not be possible.
