CM: Maldini and Gazidis clash over whether to offer new deal to Milan midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management are clashing over the future of midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura and whether or not to offer him a new deal, a report claims.

Having been with Milan since 2014, Bonaventura’s days with the Rossoneri are numbered as it stands. He is on a deal until June of this year, and no reports in the Italian media suggest that a renewal is close or even being discussed.

Calciomercato.com reported that Lazio are already planning for a 2020-21 season in which they will be back in the Champions League and that Bonaventura is a target for them, but Napoli and Roma have also been linked.

According to the latest from the same outlet, Milan’s management are in disagreement regarding the future of the Atalanta man. The choice at the moment is to not renew his contract, and this is a decision that is not supported by Paolo Maldini, who would gladly keep him.

Instead, it is CEO Ivan Gazidis who has other ideas for the future of Milan. The player’s agent, Mino Raiola, is already working to find new accommodation for Bonaventura.
