CM: Maldini must be smart on the market with sales to fund signings – all the names

While a lot of the attention is on players that AC Milan could bring in to strengthen their squad, there could also be some outgoings to help finance it.

According to Calciomercato.com, the management are at work to find the right pieces to give to head coach Stefano Pioli, but they are trying to operate in a smart way without burdening the budget too much, meaning it is also necessary to get sales right.

Mateo Musacchio is one of the players deemed outside of the technical project. The Argentine central’s contract expires at the end of the season and there are no signs that he will be offered a renewal.

Genoa are interested in the evolution of the affair and could make their move, with Milan happy to sell next month in order to save on his salary.

It is a similar situation for Leo Duarte, who has been overtaken in the hierarchy by Pierre Kalulu. The Brazilian has a long contract (2024), so a loan to regain condition after injuries and re-evaluate his position seems most likely.

Another situation to be resolved is that of Rade Krunic. In the summer Maldini rejected an offer from Freiburg, but the Bosnian is struggling to find his place and for this reason Milan will consider selling him in order to fund a new signing for the midfield.

If for Samu Castillejo the idea of an exit has cooled and Daniel Maldini seems destined to stay at Milanello at least until the end of the season, Lorenzo Colombo’s stay is not as certain.

: the only alternative role to Ibrahimovic in the squad, the 2002 class would be closed by the possible arrival of a new center forward and, in this case, the Rossoneri would lend him in order not to penalize him and allow him to gain experience elsewhere.
