CM: Man City want €70m Milan star but Maldini responds – new deal with salary tripled

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are planning to hold contract talks with Theo Hernandez and his agent with Manchester City’s interest having been registered, a report claims.

Theo Hernandez made his debut for France over the international break and that is the latest sign that he has become one of the best left-backs in the world at the age of just 23. Calciomercato.com writes that Paolo Maldini constantly talks to Theo, and a renewal of his contract is planned with a pay rise from €1.5m net per season to €4.5m net.

That is because Manchester City have a strong interest in the left-back. Pep Guardiola has been following Theo for at least two years, admiring his exponential growth, and City must think about potentially replacing Benjamin Mendy.

At the moment though it is nothing more than admiration, while Theo is happy Milan and the club want to keep him as a key member of the squad for many more years. Only a truly indecent offer of over €65-70m could make Maldini reflect.
