CM: Milan and PSG in stand-off over €30m man as Rossoneri maintain firm stance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are reportedly playing a waiting game over the future of midfielder Lucas Paqueta amid speculation of serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Paqueta arrived a year ago from Flamengo, but the general consensus is that he hasn’t yet hit the levels that were anticipated upon his arrival. He has lost his spot in the starting XI for the time being too, with the 4-4-2 formation that Stefano Pioli is using deemed incompatible with his skill set.

A number of outlets have claimed that PSG sporting director Leonardo wishes to raid his former club and sign the 22-year-old, while il Corriere dello Sport recently reported that Milan have set a €35million asking price and that talks have been held between the player’s agent and the Ligue 1 giants.

According to Calciomercato.com, Paqueta’s future is ‘still to be written’ at the moment. Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban consider him transferable, but only if an adequate offer of €30m or more arrives.

Meanwhile, Louis Girardi claimed on Sunday that Bayern Munich have expressed an interested in signing Paqueta too.
