Rafael Leao is one step away from renewing his contract with AC Milan, who have already begun plotting the announcement. In fact, the parties could announce the renewal as early as next week.
The negotiations have taken a long time but Milan and Leao finally have an agreement in hand, all that’s missing is the signature of the winger. According to Calciomercato.com, the deal will cost Milan €35m net over five years.

This means that Leao’s new salary will be €7m per year (most likely including bonuses) and there will also be a sign-on bonus worth €3m. Unlike the likes of Gigio Donnarumma and Franck Kessie, Leao pushed for the renewal and that was the big key.
Jorge Mendes was spotted in Milano yesterday, as the report continues, and it’s an important signal. Lille and Sporting are currently talking about the €22m fine and the French side will assume that payment completely, by the looks of it.
As the report concludes, the idea is to announce the renewal of Leao early next week, before the first leg against Inter.
