CM: Milan eyeing Bologna striker but competition promises to be fierce

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are expected to sign a striker in the summer and there are many players on their wish list. Joshua Zirkzee is one of them, a report claims, having started the season in brilliant fashion at Bologna.

Olivier Giroud will turn 38 next year and Milan know that he can’t play every game from start to finish. Therefore, a new striker is expected in the summer and the Rossoneri could also sign one in January, though that is uncertain for now.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are closely monitoring the situation of Zirkzee, who certainly won’t leave mid-season. He has scored five goals this season and he also has two assists to his name. In other words, it’s not surprising that the Rossoneri are evaluating him, but the competition in the summer will likely be fierce.

Jonathan David has been touted as the main target for the summer but according to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, that’s not the case. Milan are evaluating other players and Zirkzee could be one of these ‘primary targets’.

In the meantime, Milan are relying on Luka Jovic and the 15-year-old Francesco Camarda for tonight’s clash against Fiorentina. The latter has done really well for the Primavera this season and it remains to be seen if he will get a few minutes. He would become the youngest in history to make his Serie A debut.

    1. moratas contract seems to expire in 2024 even though transfermarkt says 2004 but the other two first has expiring contracts in 2026 as icardi was bought by galatasaray.
A younger immbobile would have been a great transfer but god forbid us aquirring morata even though he has a prettty good season this year.
