AC Milan are edging closer to their first signing of the January transfer window, and it’s not a centre-back. Instead, the Rossoneri have decided on the replacement for Pietro Pellegri.
Pellegri joined the Rossoneri on an initial loan deal last summer and talks were underway in the last few days to fast-track the permanent signing. However, an agreement wasn’t reached with Monaco and the striker will return to France before joining Torino on loan.
As a result, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking to bring in a young striker this month and it seems they have found their man. According to Calciomercato.com, they are ready to close a deal for 18-year-old Red Star man Marko Lazetic.
The deal should cost €4-5m and it’s worth mentioning that Torino had their eyes set on the youngster, prior to securing Pellegri. The signing of the latter has thus allowed Milan to move freely for Lazetic.

I don’t get why they didn’t invest the 5 mil on pellegri instead of a completely new guy who is unfamiliar with the league.
I hope this doesn’t mean the end of a strong striker purchase in the summer window.
Two reasons: 1. Pellegri has been injured practically every day of his life; 2. When not injured is probably asking for playing time given that he hardly ever plays and with Ibra and Giroud ahead of him won’t get it, which makes for a tense situation. So enter this 18 y/o kid who won’t mind sitting on the bench for Milan behind two champions.
I do not understand why we need this guy? Daniel Maldini is 3 time better player! I think Pioli has to give him more playing time.

Daniel Maldini isn’t a striker dude. we needed a young striker. this guy is touted to be promising and also has a nice frame. similar to ibra and giroud. and its 18. worth the gamble
He is good striker, in 4 games 1 goal? I know DM is not a striker, but he can score more if he played more.

And barely a CAM. He may actually be better suited to a more traditional center midfield role.
Vero Rossonero i believe he could propably also play there but personally i can see glimpses of signs of his qualities as a CAM but i think he just need some more confidence and match minutes and he will come good for us, Whether thats in the next year or not might be a different matter and he might need to get loaned out for a season or two to get consistant minutes.
We have brahim for minimum untill 2023 and i think by then or the coming year maldini will be fighting with adli for that spot. I believe it has been a long term plan to let him become a starter while lessening the pressure of the expectations of the name he wears.
