Sky: Probable Milan XI for Juve clash – Pioli gives Calabria and Krunic the nod

By Isak Möller -

Tomorrow evening, AC Milan will take on Juventus in what will be a very important game for both sides. Stefano Pioli has a few important returns to count on and he should thus be able to field a strong XI.

However, as opposed to what was reported this morning, the manager is expected to play Davide Calabria and Rade Krunic from start. The former came off the bench against Spezia and will replace Alessandro Flornzi in the right-back role.

As for Krunic, he will start alongside Sandro Tonali in the midfield tandem. It was initially believed that Ismael Bennacer would start (he returned to Italy on Friday) but perhaps he hasn’t had enough time to prepare tactically. The XI was reported by Sky Italia (via Francesco Nasato).

It will be a very interesting and important game, as already mentioned, and one thing to keep an eye on is Krunic’s positioning, should he start. When playing in the tandem, he has often had a more advanced position.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Ibrahimovic.

  1. Florenzi needs to be on the pitch, he has played there before,Krunic slows or stops advancement on the left side from Theo to Leao, not at bad as Baka aith indecision but damn close….and Diaz, good player just too small and not strong enough (upper body strength), too easily pushed off ball, cannot play with back to goal which is essential as a cam, Rebic would be better, strong, tough ,quick to turn, good with both feet and good with back to goal.
