CM: Milan concerned as Nottingham Forest could abandon pursuit of Bakayoko

By Isak Möller -

Tiemoue Bakayoko is no longer a part of AC Milan’s future plans and work is underway to find him a new club before the window closes. However, the situation is not easy for the Rossoneri, as a report highlights.

The Frenchman arrived on a two-year loan deal from Chelsea last summer but he failed to impress Stefano Pioli last season. Things didn’t get any better in the pre-season and Milan are now working on finding him a new club.

According to Calciomercato.com, Chelsea are willing to cut the loan short but they will only do so if another club is ready to sign Bakayoko. Nottingham Forest expressed their interest recently but are not reflecting, having just signed Freuler from Atalanta and Kouyaté from Crystal Palace.

Furthermore, the newly-promoted Premier League side is in talks with other targets and could thus abandon the Bakayoko track. This would obviously be negative for Milan, who would then have to turn to other potential suitors such as Galatasaray.

    1. Problem is if we field him in 15 x 45 mins then we will trigger the buyout clause where we need to pay chelsea 17 mil next summer and besides of that he holds a rather high salary of 3mil or something so its propably not very feasible to bet on him as we can most likely do cheaper for a better backup with more promise.

      1. I don’t agree that a better back up is that easier to find. The guy was an absolute monster on form and arguably won us games. Oh well, so much for that.

        1. Financially speaking and as an younger cheaper investment with potential of growth in both value and abilities compared to paying 17 mil + high salary for a player that wont be a starter and who will turn 30 next years august pretty much proves my point.

  1. I remember his last loan with us, he benched kessie who only got into the team again after we couldn’t agree a fee with Chelsea….it is going to take him time though to get to speed but I know that if we play him constantly and he gets in, we will be glad kessie is gone but I know the end is more nearer now

  2. He is only good on 433 or 352 formation. I dont know why management take him 2 years loan . Just 1 years loan enough, his salary are 6m euro nett on chelsea too . AC Milan cannot buy any DMF unless bakayoko out first

  3. baka was just bad in monaco and much more in napoli, maybe m&m will answer someday what are the reasons for that mega stupid 2year loan which we cannot quit and takes away the playing time for popega….(remember Locatelli)
Another point…..Nianzou would have been perfect…opportunities like that are very rare!
