CM: Two out of favour Milan forwards reject moves to Saudi Arabia

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan forwards Ante Rebic and Divock Origi have both rejected the chance to play for clubs in Saudi Arabia, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo on Twitter, Rebic is completely removed from Stefano Pioli’s plans at Milan but is yet to be moved on.

He had the opportunity to accept an offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, and the same can be said for Origi who is not part of the plans either. They have both said no to these advances, meaning they are stuck at Milan.

Besiktas are very keen on signing Rebic from Milan but the Rossoneri only well to sell him outright, whereas the Turkish side are more inclined to loan him with an option to make the deal permanent.

The two clubs are at an impasse but the two forwards certainly do not seem to have a future at Milan.

  1. Wow, who would have thought…
Guys who spent their careers on the bench don’t have a problem with staying on the bench some more while getting paid. Shocking.

  2. I wont blame them, joining leagues like the saudi one is a sign of a complete of lack of any ambitions and everyone joining it does it for one simple reason and that is cash but unfortunately in the process also kinda supports countries that doesnt give a damn about human rights.

    1. I am not sure both these forwards harbour big footballing ambitions, especially in the context that footballers are slaves to their agents, I think they are simply looking for an offer of higher monetary value.

I question their ambitious in that they were so bad last season and did not make up for with working harder but they showed, to me anyway, that they were just going through the motions.

But if we could get €15-20m for both of them we could invest in a young strike like Okofor for our squad.

      1. well even if we get a high sum i wouldnt want it for them to join them regardless and if i were in their shoes id much rather take the decisiom to retire than playing there,
i wouldnt even come as a tourist as i wouldnt put a dime in a country that doesnt care about simple human rights and for the muslims on this site it goes beyond saudii arabia as i wouldnt travel to israel either,

        1. Thanks for your passion for human rights but I think we should all be more concerned with making as much money on these players as possible simply because of the disappointment we endured watching them last season.

Every country has in the world is or committed uman rights atrocities either now or within the last 100 years or so, so we should just leave that where it is and sell these 2 losers and buy a young striker, getting a positive from a negative is all ways good

          1. Dont get me wrong i would like us to sell them to other leagues but i would not blame them for refusing to join the saudi league on the grounds i mentioned and sure the world isnt perfect but still principles ways higher than money in my view.

    2. They can go be irrelevant in Turkey, or go be irrelevant for the Saudi’s but make a $hit ton more. Not sure how this is a choice…. unless their agents are blowing smoke up their @$$.
