CM: Milan had €20m deal with Salzburg over Arsenal target Szoboszlai – the background

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan had an agreement back in January to sign Dominik Szoboszlai from Red Bull Salzburg and may now regret not getting the deal over the line.

According to Calciomercato.com, the story between Szoboszlai and Milan has deep roots and the club are still hoping that a happy ending isn’t far away.

Back in January Zvonimir Boban went in strongly for the Hungary international after losing out to RB Leipzig in the race to sign Dani Olmo from Dinamo Zagreb.

The former Milan CFO had an agreement with Salzburg over a €20million fee, but then things broke down and the player remained in Austria.

However, Szoboszlai is a pupil of Ralf Rangnick and the German would like to take him to Milan where he will begin a new adventure this summer. The contacts are ongoing and the two parties are not too far apart in terms of agreeing personal terms.
