CM: Milan, Ibrahimovic, Donnarumma and Raiola – an ‘arm wrestle’ that is ‘proving very difficult’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have hit difficulties during discussions regarding the renewals of both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gianluigi Donnarumma, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reports that as well as willpower from both parties and a common vision regarding how the club should move forward, an economic agreement is also needed, but on that last point something has ‘jammed’.

Mino Raiola is a tough nut to crack. Milan are offering €5million plus bonuses, whereas Ibrahimovic asks for at least €7m. It will take patience, the feeling is that a clearing can arrive before the weekend.

Then there is the renewal of Donnarumma, which will be addressed next. Raiola wants to understand what Elliott’s plans are and how they want to strengthen the team.

To extend the contract requires the insertion of a release clause to basically secure a get-out if things do not go to plan. Donnarumma and his family would like to stay with the Rossoneri, but different conditions will be needed compared to 2017.

The outlet describes the battle between Milan and Raiola as an ‘arm wrestle that is proving very difficult’.
