CM: Milan and Inter considering January move as Porto set €10m price tag

By Isak Möller -

Medhi Taremi was heavily linked with a move to AC Milan this past summer but the negotiations broke down in the final weeks of the mercato. In January, there could be a derby between the Rossoneri and Inter.

Taremi has started the season with just two goals in ten appearances across all competitions, perhaps distracted by what happened in the summer. His contract with Porto will expire in June 2024 and he could move already in January.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan still have the Iranian international on their wish list but have not decided whether to make a move in January or in the summer. In the meantime, Inetr are also monitoring the situation amid Marko Arnautovic’s injury.

Porto want at least €10m for the striker in January, which they have already told the Milanese clubs. It remains to be seen if a derby will break out in three months, or if both sides will wait until the summer.

For now, however, Milan will rely on Olivier Giroud, Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic for the No.9 role.

  1. No no no no no! The strikers are not the problem, it’s the new midfield. They’re solid but all the same, physical hard working runners. We need people that can maintain possesion, build up play, and bring the ball to our strikers. Bennacer’s return will be like signing a new regista but we need a difference maker further up as well.

    1. So S Milan, when you get all those new midfielders who are going to score the goals, we already played 2 Champions League games and zero goals scored,

    2. You right and wring in sane time. Right about to javelin a true play maker and wring about not enough strikers. No one brings decent assists other than Leao for now because Giroud is not a poacher rather than aged striker. Maybe Jovic can solve this oriblem but still, a deep laying player maker is missing.
Milan, in my view, should got Lukaku but his salary is high

    3. football formation is like a spear
good handle and strong foundation is good
and the end of spear must be sharp and strong

even poor foundation of spear can deadly with sharp end. thats why striker are more valuable eventhough modern football they touch ball only 5-7 times only in 90 minutes

i do believe we need a striker, but im not sure with Taremi being the choice

  2. @ smilan what do you mean the striker are not our problem but the midfield..are you joking?
Our main & only problem right now is a striker because Giroud can not score from open play unless given a penalty or easy tap in🙄
We have played 2 games in the champions league with 0 goals despite the numerous chances created by the wingers & midfield.
Sometimes I wonder if some of you fans really understand football at all.

    1. He is right in the second part, that the midfield is the problem. When you check where did those chances come from – Rafael Leao. What is the rest doing? Giroud was always useless, but if you hit him with the ball 7 times, he will score once. That was him at Milan, not sure what did anyone see last season or the year before. He was the same.

Jovic is the 2nd striker, a joke.

      1. What? Raijnders 2 assist Ruben 2 assist – 1 goal. Look away from the assist they have been heavily involved in more goals. What we need is a physical DM Casemiro/Busquets type player a striker a backup left back and possibly a starting right back

      2. Yes and no. Midfield lacks a proper DM, but we are waiting for Bennacer.
Also I feel our midfield problems have more to do with how Pioli has used the players (at least in the BVB game) and less with the players quality.

    2. But Giroud didn’t miss all the chances, the rest of the team did. He missed 1. If midfield players also can’t hit an empty goal…

  3. Not sure it is worth it. Only if Giroud is leaving next season and Milan will get a starting striker and Taremi accepts to being the 2nd choice. Or 1st if he just plays amazing, but more likely 2nd choice.

    1. No No get DeZerbi and sack Pioli and the team will transform into a stronger UCL and Seria A team that the blue side will fear at the moment they laugh at the Rosso Neri !!!!

  4. The issue was the player’s demands, not the transfer fee…. Doubt Taremi’s entourage had some humble pie between summer & winter.

    1. What were his salary demands? Did we ever find out? 4-5M seems reasonable considering he will be our starting striker for years to come. Agreed it wasn’t the transfer fee. We apparently were talking to the wrong agent or they asked for a crazy number or commissions at the last moment. That won’t change. So either we pay up or find another alternative. Wish we would have spent the 35M and took Wahi who is looking like a future star.

  5. I think the coach should give jovic a chance. He should be the sub for okafor.Rest Giround for the next match.Or better still sub for Rafeal

  6. I don’t think it’s wise to try to recruit a player who basically agreed to our conditions, then changed his mind and basically forced us to go for Jovic. Also this season so far he only has 2 goals and 1 assist, which maybe is a proof of his lack of professionalism.
A player with this mentality maybe causes some troubles in our locker room, and since we don’t have a real leader, it may impact our players mind and performance.
But that’s just my opinion on the subject.
