CM: Milan joined by Lazio in pursuit of talented midfield pair valued at €65m

AC Milan and Lazio are both fighting for a pair of midfielder reinforcements ahead of the upcoming summer window, a report claims.

The midfield department is the one area of the Rossoneri squad which looks set to undergo the biggest overhaul once the season is over. Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura will leave on free transfers when their contracts expire, while there are doubts over the futures of Franck Kessie, Lucas Paqueta and even now Ismael Bennacer amid interest from abroad.

As a result a number of different targets have been linked, including both Dominik Szoboszlai of Red Bull Salzburg and Florentino Luis of Benfica – valued at €25m and €40m respectively as per reports.

However, Calciomercato.com are reporting that Milan are not alone in their pursuit, as Serie A rivals Lazio are also chasing the aforementioned duo.

They look almost certain to be able to offer Champions League football next season too, perhaps a blow to Milan’s hopes, who will now have to pitch Ralf Rangnick’s project in an even more convincing way.
