CM: Milan and Juventus keen on Monaco midfielder amid contract situation

By Isak Möller -

Youssouf Fofana is expected to leave Monaco this summer and ended up on the radar of several big clubs, including AC Milan and Juventus. According to a report, the Rossoneri believe he could be the perfect replacement.

Milan had big problems in the defensive phase in the 2023-24, conceding a whopping 49 goals in the league. Changes are needed, in other words, and one of the solutions is to bring in a proper defensive midfielder.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri have identified Monaco’s Fofana as the perfect man for that role and Geoffrey Moncada is a huge fan of the player. Furthermore, his contract will expire in 2025 and this means a discount is likely this summer.

The 25-year-old has already made it clear that he will be sold this summer, or he will stay and see out his contract. In spite of this, the first indications suggest that Monaco could ask for as much as €25m this summer, though it’s probably negotiable.

Milan are keeping a close eye on the situation and could soon make a concrete more for the player. The competition shouldn’t be underestimated, though, with Juventus one of several other teams keeping tabs on Fofana’s future.

  1. I don’t think we can outbid any team for Fofana. Although while he does seem like a good player, is he sound defensively wise ? He does seem to play with midfielders more defensive than him sometimes.
