CM: Milan eye promising Lecce midfielder as first summer signing – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are already making plans for the summer and although their wish list includes many names, some are more concrete than others. Joan Gonzalez is one of the concrete ideas, a report claims.

Gonzalez joined Lecce on a free transfer ahead of the season after he was let go by Barcelona. It’s been a successful signing for the Serie A side thus far and they could monetise his good performances already in the summer.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan are very interested in the central midfielder and an inquiry has most likely been made. The negotiation hasn’t been started but Maldini is expected to meet sporting director Pantaleo Corvino at the end of the season.

Gonzalez is a concrete idea as things stand, per the report, and Aster Vranckx’s potential departure could make the matter a priority. The midfielder’s price tag is believed to be around €10m and it remains to be seen if Milan will complete the deal.
