CM: Milan schedule meeting with Tonali’s agent – their stance is clear

By Isak Möller -

Sandro Tonali was one of the key players for AC Milan this past season and especially in the season finale, when he really stepped up. It’s not exactly a surprise that a pay rise is on the way, therefore.

The young midfielder agreed to lower his salary in order to stay at the club last summer and it might have actually helped him, given the incredible growth since. It’s clear that a pay rise is in order now, though.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan will have a meeting with Tonali’s agent Giuseppe Riso very soon. Tonali lowered his salary to €2m per year last summer but the Rossoneri want to increase it again, making it more suitable for one of the best midfielders in the league.

An economic and moral recognition, as the report described it, after what has been a tremendous season for both Milan and Tonali. The current deal will expire in 2026 and it’s possible that another year could be added to that in the process.
