CM: Milan ready to reward Pioli for his work with contract extension – talks to begin soon

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to begin talks with head coach Stefano Pioli over the extension of his contract by one or two years, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.com writes, Pioli secured Milan’s return to the Champions League after seven years of long waiting and he could be rewarded for achieving a second-placed finish with a new extended contract. The Rossoneri are concretely evaluating the possibility of reinforcing their belief in the former Lazio and Fiorentina boss.

Indeed, Milan want to lock Pioli in for the next seasons and confirmation arrived before Sunday’s match against Atalanta, but now he is ready to reap the benefits of what has been sown. The parties are moving towards a new agreement until 2023 or 2024 (current deal runs until 2022) and the parties will talk again in a few weeks once some renewal situations have been sorted. Nonetheless, it is a sign of trust from Maldini and co.
