CM: Milan received written offer from Fenerbahce for defender before window closed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan did receive an offer from Turkish side Fenerbahce for defender Andrea Conti, according to a report.

There were a number of teams linked with Conti throughout the summer, and on deadline day Calciomercato.com reported that Genoa were very keen on signing him. They also stated that Milan and Conti are actually in talks to define the termination of his contract expiring on June 30 of next year so the full-back would be able to join on a free transfer.

According to the latest from the same source, there have been whispers over the past few days regarding a possible Fenerbahce attempt for Conti. According to what they have learned, Milan did indeed receive a written offer from the Turkish club but it was not enough to get a deal over the line.

The transfer window for Turkish clubs closed yesterday, so Conti will remain at least until January unless his deal is indeed terminated.

  1. Romagnoli was from Belusconi era. I believe he was part of a trade deal involving El Shaarawy. Romagnoli was there when they came in the club.
