CM: Milan already have Giroud’s renewal ready – details of the agreement

By Isak Möller -

Olivier Giroud continues to have a very successful season as he bagged another goal for France at the World Cup this evening. And it wasn’t just any goal, becoming France’s all-time top goalscorer.

The 36-year-old scored his 52nd goal for France with a lovely finish, assisted by Kylian Mbappe, and thus surpassed Thierry Henry on the list of the country’s top goalscorers. A huge goal for the Milan man, in other words.

Speaking of Milan, they already have a contract renewal ready for Giroud, whose current deal will expire in the summer. The new agreement will have the same salary, around €3.5m, and will add another year to his stay (until 2024), per Calciomercato.com.

Milan know that Giroud isn’t the main solution for the future, but they still want to make use of his many qualities while he still is able to produce. And no one can blame them, given just how well the striker is playing right now.

    1. Or what if PSG offer Giroud 6M season to pair him with Mbappe and Giroud accepts – is he now a “traitor” or “greedy and “not loyal” to Milan???? I say NO – but some fans would say yes lol. Fans have double standards with certain players. It’s a shame

      1. Not sure if he would. Older players usually want to be loved and cherished by fans and other players. He’s already a legend in Milan. Younger players definitely money comes first.
