CM: Milan target Real Madrid forward as alternative to €50m man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been forced to look for alternative targets to Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa – and a Real Madrid forward is reportedly being targeted.

On Tuesday we exclusively reported that Correa is continuing to wait for Milan, and that his representative was due to fly in for talks with Milan.

Correa is understood to be keen on a move to the Rossoneri, but Atletico to this point are refusing to lower their €50m asking price.

Diego Simeone meanwhile suggested on Saturday that he would be happy to keep the player, meaning Milan are seemingly no closer to landing their primary target.

As a result, Calciomercato.com claim that Paolo Maldini and the rest of the Milan leadership are now being forced to consider other options.

They claim that the club are now considering the idea of making a move for Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz, who is currently the third-choice striker behind Karim Benzema and new signing Luka Jovic.

The 26-year-old – who scored 21 league goals and provided six assists for Lyon in 2017-18 – could as a result be available for a loan or a cheaper fee.
