CM: Milan’s two-step plan to secure Botman – from January opening to formula

By Isak Möller -

Simon Kjaer will miss the rest of the season due to an injury and as a result, AC Milan are looking to bring in a centre-back next month. The name that has been mentioned the most is without a doubt Sven Botman.

The Dutchman has impressed with Lille and as we know, Milan have a great relationship with the French side (signing Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan). As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri could make the most of this.

Their idea is to fast-track a signing that was originally scheduled for the summer, a scenario Botman fits into. In the coming days, per the report, Paolo Maldini will initiate contacts with Lille to inquire about the situation.

Milan have a two-step plan to get to Botman: 1) Confirm that a move in January is a possibility and 2) have in-depth discussions on the transfer formula, which the Rossoneri want to be a hefty paid loan with an option to buy.

Lille have slapped a €30m price tag on their star defender and Milan have already been in touch with his agents.

  1. According what we read in the last 4 years If Milan would like to sell player it will cost nothing BUT if Milan want to buy a player it cost always more than 25 million it’s really ironic the war from the journalist and the media against Milan
