CM: Milan ‘will buy at least two midfielders’ – one of them likely to be a ‘high-profile player’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expected to buy at least two midfielders in the summer mercato, it is claimed, with one of them being a ‘high-profile player’.

Both Kessie and Bennacer are set to miss a few Milan games because of the AFCON in early January 2022 until the beginning of February, with Ivory Coast and Algeria among the pre-tournament favourites. Presuming Tonali stays, the fourth midfielder in the squad is Rade Krunic, so reinforcements are needed.

According to what Daniele Longo has reported on Instagram live (via MilanPosts), Milan ‘will buy at least two midfielders’ in the summer. One of them will probably be a ‘high-profile player, a sort of starting XI player’ to raise the quality of the department.

He adds that the other player is likely to be a young profile who has potential, while Longo does not believe that Tommaso Pobega will stay at the club despite an excellent season with Spezia, rather he will leave on loan again.
