CM: Milan’s probable XI for Lazio – Suso back in; changes to the defence

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli could make a pair of changes to the team which ran out 1-0 winners against SPAL, according to a report.

The Rossoneri were far from at their best in Thursday night’s victory, continuing a trend established this season of underperforming even in wins.

However, Milan were improved in the second half as Pioli made changes at the right times, and according to Calciomercato.com he may make some alterations to his starting line-up for Sunday’s crucial game against Lazio.

The Aquile will arrive at San Siro having scored 12 goals in their last six games as part of a run which has seen them burst into the top five, just one point behind city rivals Roma in fourth.

The report claims that Pioli will start Leo Duarte at centre-back, replacing Mateo Musacchio – who picked up an injury against SPAL and was subbed off – with Davide Calabria coming in at right back.

The rest of the defence and the midfield trio will remain unchanged, but in the front three Suso is expected to come in for Samu Castillejo, who had a frustrating night on Thursday.

PREDICTED MILAN XI (4-3-3): G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Duarte, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Paqueta, Bennacer, Kessie; Suso, Piatek, Calhanoglu.

PREDICTED LAZIO XI (3-5-2): Strakosha; Luiz Felipe, Acerbi, Bastos; Lazzari, Milinkovic-Savic, Leiva, Luis Alberto, Lulic; Immobile, Correa.
