CM: Milan’s stance on Samardzic deal emerges amid rumours of meeting

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appreciate the characteristics of Lazar Samardzic but are not in the running to sign him at the moment, according to a report.

Sportitalia reporter Michele Criscitiello stated yesterday that Udinese directors were in Milano and were expected to meet with Milan, Inter and Napoli over the potential sale of Samardzic.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Samardzic’s future is a bit of a mystery at present. There are interested clubs after a season in which he amassed five goals and four assists in 37 games, with Udinese setting a price of €18-20m.

However, Inter have pulled out of the race to sign the 21-year-old after striking a deal with Sassuolo for Davide Frattesi, while Milan are currently not in the running either and have no meeting scheduled with Udinese despite the fact he ticks a lot of boxes.

Napoli and Roma seem to be the two sides most concretely interested at present, with Jose Mourinho an admirer, while Atalanta see him as a potential fit for Gian Piero Gasperini’s game too.

  1. Meanwhile Napoli is reportedly going after Matteo Prati, 19 yo from SPAL, a fast riser, future face of la Nazionale. I guess the algorithm has a filer “no Italian”.
