CM: Nice trigger extension in deal of €35m-rated AC Milan target

By Oliver Fisher -

Ligue 1 side Nice have triggered a clause in the contract of reported AC Milan target Allan Saint-Maximin, a report claims.

Saint-Maximin was heavily linked with a move to the Rossoneri during the January transfer window, but despite the best efforts of Milan an agreement was not reached with the winger’s club.

Recent reports from SportMediaset suggested that Milan may still get their man, as Leonardo has reached a rough agreement with Nice.

Now, Calciomercato.com transfer expert Fabrizio Romano states that a new clause has been activated in the contract of the 21-year-old, whose deal was due to expire in 2020.

The club has moved to automatically extend the length of Saint-Maximin’s contract until 2022 – but that apparently doesn’t change Milan’s chances of signing the player in the summer.

Nice value their star wide man at €35million, the report claims, but Leonardo could face competition from a number of other top European sides.
