CM: Origi eager to stay and reedem himself but Milan are hesitant – the latest

Divock Origi arrived on a free transfer last summer and thus signed a rather hefty contract with AC Milan. However, after just two goals in 36 appearances, the striker could leave the Rossoneri.

Origi arrived with high expectations but due to a couple of injuries, he got off to a rough start and never really recovered. Two goals and one assist certainly wasn’t enough to win over the fans, but he’s reportedly eager to prove himself.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have already started to plan for his departure with Crystal Palace and Besiktas interested. However, Origi wants to stay and redeem himself and this could complicate the situation for Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada.

Origi earns €4.5m net and Milan would like to get this off the wage bill, but at the same time it will be difficult for any of the teams interested to convince the striker. Crystal Palace could be the exception to that, which could help the Rossoneri.

  1. So are we gonna lose Maignan but keep Origi? I didn’t think our transfer window could get worse but this would be a new low 😆

Probably all paper talk but it’s tough to force players out especially if they’re comfortable. Origi spent his career as a sub so even the threat of not playing wouldn’t scare him. Hopefully a PL club comes forward.

      1. @bb

I agree we’re likely to keep Maignan (maybe I’m not as confident as you betting my house!) and no doubt journalists are incentivized to create drama and storyline for clicks

However, to criticise the previous directors (of which I was a fan of btw) we were relatively indecisive and potentially missed out on good targets/ kept too many players who didnt perform.

This new regime, I hoped would at least act more decisively whether that’s player sales or signings. Will give them a few more weeks but by mid July, they need to deliver something. We can’t carry Origi etc for another season and keep the same poor standards at RW for example.

Moncada & co need to step up, they are supposedly experts.

        1. “We can’t carry Origi etc for another season and keep the same poor standards at RW for example.”

Only an idiot would disagree. 🙂

  2. I gave my Idea agaisnt his Arrival and even Forcasted that it be difficult to sell him
He sees the foolishness of the managent and Dillema of Decisions.
Thid is Absolultely un acceptable to give him 500k salaries a year.
He must be sent out and even to be Terminated his contract by any means.

    1. Terminate his contract – then we need to reach agreement with the player, and possibly need to compensate at last one year salary, which is 4.5m. That won’t happen.

Either any team buy him, or he will stay with us.

    1. It is still mystery why we sign him and give him 4m euro nett. He is last choice in juergen klopp squad and not even get 300 minute in his last season with liverpool . Now AC Milan pay him 2m euro for each goal

      1. He is relatively young and score many important goals for Liverpool, with limited playing time. At the time of arrival the deal not looked so bad except for the injury that force him to Miss preseason and early season games.

  3. Oh no , another biglia and montolivo repeat case, comfortable with his contract and stay until contract expire. Disaster if that happen ,origi still have 3 years contract with high salary. Lets hope some EPL club buy him for 5-6 m euro

  4. Again… just speculation. With Milan focusing on data analytics, there’s no way Origi stays on for another season at his current salary with the numbers he’s shown…

    1. How did u think he got here? Belgian + free has Moncada analytics written all over it. Also freebies salary tends to be higher because after all they are free so looking to get more.

      1. No, you’re forgetting the PR spin.

Moncada only chose the players who turned out to be good for Milan.

        Get with the program, dude.
