CM: Pioli handed boost as Florenzi could be called up for Verona-Milan

Alessandro Florenzi underwent knee surgery last month and he has since been working hard at Milanello to recover. The day of his return is now close and it could even come this weekend, a report claims.

The full-back has made 27 appearances for Milan this season and while he hasn’t been outstanding, he has been very solid. It remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will pay the €4.5m to redeem him, but that isn’t the focus right now.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Florenzi is now back to training with the ball at Milanello and that is indeed good news for manager Stefano Pioli. A call-up for the game against Hellas Verona, even if it means just sitting on the bench, cannot be excluded.

With all of his experience, Florenzi is an important player to have close to the youngsters in such an important part of the season, as is the case with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In any case, he should be available for the final two games of the season.
