CM: Pioli makes choice on Krunic’s replacement after training experiment

The team that is fielded against Cagliari tomorrow night at the Sardegna Arena is expected to be an experimental AC Milan, especially in midfield and attack.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan that will take the field tomorrow in Cagliari against Claudio Ranieri’s side – who are struggling with no wins from their first five games – with a rotated team by virtue of their crowded schedule.

The main changes will be in attack where Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud are expected to rest, meaning a trio of Samuel Chukwueze on the right, Noah Okafor down the middle and Christian Pulisic on the left is expected.

Then in midfield, Rade Krunic’s injury means a new player will have to sit at the base of the midfield. Many fans were excited to see Yacine Adli there after he played in preseason, but his moment hasn’t arrived yet.

Instead of the Franco-Algerian, Tijjani Reijnders should play in place of the injured Krunic. The Dutchman was tested yesterday in training as the regista in front of the defence, and he should start there tomorrow despite it not being his natural position.

  1. Adli hasn’t played this season yet, not as a sub. I think Pioli’s committed not to put people on the starting 11 before they come as sub. But he might come in this game so that Reijnders may prep for the Lazio game.

Adli himself has asked for patience. We should do the same before crying for his selection.

  2. Not his natural position? Reijnders played this role for AZ. See for instance his game against West Ham in last years conference league.

  3. Pioli is a liar!! Promised to Adli that he will have his chance to prove himself. When ???
Pioli out!! This thing shows he is 0 character!!

  4. It has to be some sort of a rotational hyrid. Reijnders pulls up higher, then one of musah/RLC slots back to the 6. Neither one of the three are natural to that role.
