Stefano Pioli knows he must get his team selection right if AC Milan are to beat Liverpool and potentially make the last 16 of the Champions League – something that seemed impossible two weeks ago.
Calciomercato.com reports that there will be 57,000 fans in attendance hoping to make the atmosphere as hostile as possible for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The Rossoneri must win and wait for good news from Porto, hoping for a draw or a victory for Atletico Madrid by a lesser margin or the same as Milan win by.
The report adds that Pioli is certain about his midfield where Sandro Tonali will play alongside Franck Kessie, as well as the fact that Mike Maignan will be in goal with Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez in defence, but there is a battle between Pierre Kalulu and Alessandro Florenzi for the right-back role.
The attack will be led by Zlatan Ibrahimovic who rested against Salernitana, with Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic confident of a place, but then it will be one between Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias.
There are two spots up for grabs therefore, with more indications likely to come after the final training session today before the game tonight at 21:00 CET.
