AC Milan are in contact with the representatives of Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to a report.
The Rossoneri have been strongly linked with a move for the Serbia international in recent weeks, with rumours suggesting that the leadership see him as the perfect marquee summer signing.
Now, a report from Calciomercato.com claims that Milan’s owners believe that if they qualify for next season’s Champions League (at Lazio’s expense), they will be in pole position to sign Milinkovic-Savic.
They go on to state that the 24-year-old “has been very clear that he sees his future at a club with Champions League football”, but that Lazio president Claudio Lotito will demand a massive fee for him.
However, Milan have apparently received “positive feedback” from the player’s agents, who have indicated that Milinkovic-Savic would be keen on a move to San Siro should a top-four finish be secured.
