CM: Rangnick lays down key demands regarding Milan role to avoid ‘suicide mission’

By Oliver Fisher -

Ralf Rangnick has laid out his set of demands for if he is to accept a role at AC Milan before the start of next season, according to a report.

Rangnick’s words on Friday to German outlet Bild served as confirmation that there have indeed been talks with Milan as he failed to deny the possibility of a new adventure in Italy.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Rangnick has sent the message that hiring him does not mean simply hiring an executive or manager but a complete package and a real revolution.

Milan and its owners will have to be ready to accompany the German on a medium-long term journey, fully listening to and embracing the ideas of the German manager.

Rangnick has reiterated several times that he does not want to limit himself to the field but wants to have a broad voice on the market and in planning the future of the club

Full power on scouting and on the market, as well as the tactics on the field – that will be the basis of Rangnick’s omnipotency.

The former Schalke and Hoffenheim boss will also need economic support: he has stressed that the financial aspect is not primary compared to the ideas, but in the initial phase it will certainly need an important effort on the part of the ownership to guarantee solid foundations to build from.

It is no coincidence that in recent months contacts have continued regarding the budget available for the summer. The time will come to define the future with Gazidis and the Rossoneri management but one thing is clear: if Rangnick will lead the next revolution, Milan will have to ensure that it is not a ‘suicide mission’.
