CM: Romero one of two players who could leave Milan in January

By Isak Möller -

Luka Romero was one of the surprises during pre-season as he impressed on the right flank, scoring a screamer against Real Madrid. However, he could leave AC Milan in January, just like Mattia Caldara.

Romero arrived on a free transfer from Lazio in the summer and showed what he’s capable of during the pre-season. At the age of 18, though, it’s clear that he could use consistent playing time to continue his development.

Therefore, as reported by Calciomercato.com, the winger could leave Milan on loan in January. Stefano Pioli likes the Argentine a lot but the competition on the right flank is fierce, with both Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze ahead.

Another player who could leave in January, but instead on a permanent basis, is Mattia Caldara. His contract will expire next summer and Milan appear willing to let him go for peanuts, but finding him a club will not necessarily be easy because of that.

Until January, Romero could be a useful resource in some league games and the first Coppa Italia clash.

  1. Another Adli. Does well in pre season and will be benched whole season. With 433 he will have minimal play time. Unless baldy switch back to 4231. However, that will make Krunic cry hehehe

    1. Wtf has Krunic to do with this? You adli, hauge lover boys are clueless. Adli would mess up the system as he doesn’t know how to pressure and always out of position. Romero is not yet ready, he wasn’t ready at Lazio, he isn’t at Milan. One good goal against sleepy pre season opponents doesn’t change that.

      1. Adli is soft. Romero is completely different story but I do believe he can be used and be given a chance. How should we know if he is ready or not? Just because of pre-season with sleepy opponents? 😉 give him minutes like what Xavi is doing in Barca, then decide!

          1. Yes lets play Romero and lose games and then people like @revshev will come back with their usual Pioli out Red Bird out bullshit

literally waiting for a chance to complain

          2. Yes lets play Romero more and lose control of games and then you can go back to your usual bullsh*t of Pioli out Redbird out, thats what you want right?

        1. More important to me is integrating both Pulicic and Chukwueze. How should we know indeed, bet Pioli knows better than us right? If he would excel on training and completely understand tactics he will get his chance. We have important matches ahead of us, why take risks? Pedri, Jamal, Gavi etc situation is different, they have been at Barca for many years so are therefore better integrated (language, tactics, etc)

        2. What we could see is that Chukwu is not ready. Playing every match and all we could see is a bunch of lost balls and unsuccesful dribbles.

    2. Adli never showed anything when he was called to the pitch thou.

As a sub that’s what you need to do – give everything everytime you’re called upon. Which he didn’t.

He know what Pioli wanted from his midfielder, but he don’t do it adequately – that’s why he didn’t play. If you do what Pioli want he will give you chance, no matter the age : just look at Leao, Theo, Brahim. They come to us as young, raw, unproven players but getting game time because they do what the coach want.

    3. ADLI ADLI ADLI. “Adli” is becoming a fvcking trigger word for me. Where would fvcking Adli play in a 4-2-3-1? He’s NOT a defensive midfielder. Mezzala is his best shot and right now we have Reijnders and RLC in those positions, two MUCH better players in front of him. Even Pobega offers more than Adli. Case fvcking closed.

      1. Why are you acting like Adli denied you a lift from school lol relax we are all entitled to our options. Cussing doesn’t change my mind. You and Boulden should visit anger management facilities hehehe

  2. A young player getting playing time on loan is hardly something to criticize by the cry-babies here as it is routinely done by all clubs. Yes, Luka Romero should be loaned out but brought back once he develops some more. He will be useful in the future.

  3. This guy is the perfect example how a perfect preseason games means nothing to Pioli when we talk about youngsters. You need to be bought for millions to get a chance or to have a crazy luck that everyone on your position get injured as in Kalulu’s case.

  4. this is formation for milan this season if they want to win scudeto:

    ——Leao——

    Pulisic———Reijnders——–chuka/romero
    Musah——-RLC
    Theo——–Tiaw——–Tomori/Kalulu—–Calabria

    Mike M.

  5. Pioli Stefano I disagree Romero is a classic star let him become leao deputy because he can play both flank even can still play as an attacking midfield.please anybody can go but not him

  6. I wish Pep Gurdiola is our coach, players like Romero,Adli and Pellegrino can become beast by having much playing time. I always wanted that bald good for nothing Pioli out.

    1. Dude show some respect! What’s so good about pep anyway.. First he doesn’t see the point having strikers, so he sold all of them and played without one. Now few years later he wants to play 2 strikers wtf guy doesn’t know what he want. Pioli would ve one CL sooner with that squad. Overrated guardiola. He’d probably put thiaw and Calabria as cdms.
But seriously go support man city, you probably have the age for it

  7. Personally I would keep him here.
For me the jury’s out on Chuck and we are only an injury to Pulisic away from having a right wing issue. He’s 18; let him stay and be around the ‘big boys’ – he’ll learn far more from being a part of Milan than a serie b outfit ..
