CM: Salzburg set €25m auction base as Bundesliga clubs join Milan in midfielder race

AC Milan are far from alone in their pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, according to a report.

We reported via our correspondent Vito Angele that Rangnick has already given a clear input: Szoboszlai is a concrete objective of his and Milan have already started contacts with Red Bull Salzburg.

Calciomercato.com reported earlier on Tuesday that the player wants a move to Italy, with Milan having his approval as a potential destination. Back in April, the midfielder stated that a move to the Rossoneri would be ‘destiny’.

According to Calciomercato.comSzoboszlai remains one of Milan’s most concrete targets to reinforce the midfield ahead of the summer transfer window.

However it will not be a cheap coup to pull off by any means. His exploits this season – including a hat-trick in a 5-1 win in midweek – mean that the Austrian club will start the auction at €25million.

In addition, the report adds that there are also several Bundesliga clubs who are in the race for the teenager – that in addition to reported interest from Napoli and Lazio domestically.
