Renato Sanches has been heavily linked with Milan since the January market, when a move allegedly broke down late, and he remains a target. In fact, an agreement appears to be close.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have been working on the signing of Sanches for several months. They have reached an agreement with Lille on the basis of €20m plus bonuses, taking the total to €25m max.
At the end of May, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massata expected to get the ‘yes’ from Jorge Mendes for the move. Sanches wants to reunite with his former teammate Mike Maignan and he has made it known that he wants to play for Milan.
Recent contacts have got the parties closer to an agreement for a contract that will be worth less than the €5m per year requested in January. In short, a move appears plausible as things stand and we will have to wait and see what the outcome will be.
Always wanted Saul at Milan. Wonder what happend to him to decline so much in recent years
For the midfield I’d prefer a different profile, a more combative profile like tchouameni from Monaco.
Quality signing but adding an injury prone player to an already injury prone squad is worrying.
