CM: Sassuolo’s interest in Milan duo could give leverage in Frattesi talks

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could use a counterpart to try and get ahead of rivals Inter in the race to sign Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com report that there have been contacts between Sassuolo CEO Carnevali and his Milan counterpart Giorgio Furlani, who wants to accelerate the talks for Frattesi after missing out on Marcus Thuram to Inter.

While the Nerazzurri remain ahead in the mission to sign the 23-year-old, Milan are trying. The current asking price is €40m which is deemed too high by Furlani, who will try to obtain a discount or include some counterparts.

Milan’s idea was to evaluate Lorenzo Colombo during the preseason training camp, but he is in demand and Sassuolo asked for information during yesterday’s talks. Another player appreciated by the Emilian side is Daniel Maldini.

Both of the young talents could enter the Frattesi negotiation but only if Sassuolo deemed them to be worth the right amount. Between Monday and Tuesday the clubs will have a new discussion to understand if things can go further.

      1. Milan with stupid management no single signing , everytime it is either Inter, Napoli and other clubs ahead in signing. Sacking of the former management worsened their attitude.

  1. The story not withstanding though, Sassuolo would be a good destination for those lads. I think their agents should work on that.

  2. I look forward to using Maldini as part of this deal and then the point at which we try to buy him back but can’t afford to because Sassuolo play him and he becomes a gun.

I guess you need to be an industry insider to understand the logic.
