CM: ‘Significant’ pay rise on the cards for Tonali as Milan schedule meeting

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the current season, Sandro Tonali agreed to lower his salary after what was a mediocre first year with AC Milan. Since then, a lot has changed and the midfielder is now set for a pay rise instead.

The youngster was brought in from Brescia on an initial loan deal in the summer of 2020. After re-negotiating the terms with the Serie B side last summer, Milan also sat down with Tonali and the latter agreed to lower his salary to stay at the club.

This season, perhaps because of that, Tonali has exploded and he’s now an undisputed starter for Milan. His winner against Lazio and the brace against Verona is just further confirmation of that, showing his true quality on the pitch.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Tonali is now set for a ‘significant’ pay rise as Milan have scheduled a meeting for after the season. The contract should be extended for a year and, as said, include a great salary for him.
