CM: Valencia keen on Milan defender but injury halts negotiations – meeting scheduled

By Isak Möller -

Since January, Simon Kjaer has been the undisputed partner of Alessio Romagnoli, performing really well along with the captain. As the Dane has been signed permanently, there is no more room for Mateo Musacchio.

The Argentine is currently recovering from an ankle surgery, which took place in June and his return isn’t expected until late October. Taking the upcoming transfer window into account, this is far from ideal for Milan, who are willing to sell him.

Before the injury, as reported by Calciomercato.com, Musacchio was at the top of Valencia’s wish list to strengthen the defence. Now, however, everything could change and it remains to be seen if the Spanish side will proceed.

The defender has a contract with Milan until 2021 but these could be his last few months with the Rossoneri. In the next few weeks, per the report, his agent Marcelo Lombilla is expected in Italy for a meeting with Paolo Maldini.
